The business is about stallion & my god, Tarzino (NZ) is something else.

His breeding – Tavistock from Zarzino (by Zabeel) had prior attracted much publicity where Zarzino either grossly overlooked or ‘under-valued’, NZB sold for $NZ1500 as paddock ‘pet’.

We remembered Zarzino at auction and dear god, those blood lines to be relished.

Fate meets destiny. Tarzino, from the tap-root family ff 3-e, this people is the famed Cinna line.

Cinna, La Fleche

What had made this line go oomph………….where Blandford (3-o) – Blandford’s siring line descends from La Fleche (GB) 3-e, the grand-dam of Cinna.

La Fleche

3-e, ELITE famous strain –

Where readers have read any prior article pages Tables of Destiny: What’s my Line? you shall learn the deep significance of what family attributed numbers do, what strains work!

Firstly, we’ll get familiarised with other Cinna ‘rich’ breeding.

*History Time – at the back of The Register of Thoroughbred Stallions of New Zealand 2016, has the champion sire of the past: Balloch (GB) 1939 by Obliterate (GB) from Cinna (GB). Balloch – champion sire in 1951-1952, 1952-1953 and champion broodmare sire in 1961-1962, 1963-64, 1964-65, 196-67, 1967-68.  Balloch was Cinna’s last foal. She, by Polymelus was a dam of 16 foal, 13 raced and 9 where winners.

Powerful maternal family strain has, as blue-hen elite, Cinna, as was Balloch, as was Umidwar, Udaipur, the Vice Regal lines are foundation 3-e

Vice Regal, carries a double cross to Cinna

Vice Regal (NZ) by Bismark (GB) from Kind Regards (NZ) – has a double x to Cinna

Yet more in-breeding to Cinna @ 3-e strains on maternal…. Triton (Pakistan II – Haunui, by Davey Jones)

Triton (NZ) by Pakistan II from Hauani

Triton – top NZ  miler on both sides of the Tasman.

the genetic Empress, Cinna

People…all old-school, bloodstock literature clearly document the might of Cinna!

Bred back to Cinna and there’s a top chance that the resultant foal…….has an excellent chance to upgrade any breed, especially those which have been in the doldrums in recent times. Jack Glengarry’s Racing Miscellany

we are Back to the Future…. with Tarzino (NZ)

Do ya’ pedigree homework…  @ furthest remove which infuse from maternal tap-root ‘doubled’ Cinna 3-e.

Question how/why/where Zarzino by Zabeel, had its successful nick with Tavistock, Tarzino’s sire?

Observe the pedigree…the cross of Sadlers Wells/Nureyev are one, and same line, ff 5-h through Special (USA).

You can’t ever escape, purity of foundational lines!

For our New Zealand thoroughbred, Tarzino will provide breeders the golden opportunity to infuse ‘Cinna’.

Undoubtedly, he will be the new and a major breeding influence for New Zealand and Australia.

Tarzino is exceptionally bold and carries the distinguishing Zabeel/Sir Tristram ‘look’.

The Iron-horse in pedigree analysis

Genotype pedigrees are a story of what can be. Architecture for foundation.

Bloodlines which ‘polish’ the blood, configure & reconfigure the pedigree.

I went through an exercise on self owned horse – she, purchased with a small budget but showing an exceptional elite line as was researched and asleep ‘ancestrally’.

And yes, this particular family line (half brother of subject mare) has met with ‘success’ … a Victoria Derby and Rosehill Guineas winner.

At crossroads with horse/future/next…..what stallion would I think be the perfect type?

There are many options, many pathways of what lines to pick up and or not.

There are many considerations which came into a new focus which I had not anticipated.

–  Are we commercially breeding for a marketing prospect?

–  Are we breeding for self-interest, as hobby, to race?

–  Are we breeding to insure capability for future progeny?

My angle was to work upon the generations with a ‘twist’.

The thing was each scenario presented such different parameters to what would be best upon selected stallion.

I found myself wanting to play it safe.

Oddly, I found ‘theoretical’ not working through and thus considered an extreme outcross would be the best exercise. Diversity you see.

Frankly…the exercise was back to the iron, of the horse.

All I could think was build them genes up, and the rest will take care of itself.

The iron horses….Hyperion, Blenheim, Teddy with a bit less Nearco.

“take that you” – Ribot & Hyperion

It is remarkable that of A – Z of stallions & pending on budget too of course, that it comes down to a bare few in the frame.

Last, but not least be happy that there is a strategy behind it all!

Alamahoud, genotype, Mother Goose, Pocahontas, strains, Thoroughbreds, Winx

A year ago The Thoroughbred Link (TBL) blogged the post below on wonder mare and now super legend Winx. When a pedigree Winx Superior Thoroughbred

TBL made reference to her  genetic phenomena, a likened to Sunline, Phar Lap, Secretariat. And, yes Carbine expresses it to.

TBL feels certain that there is a distinct possibility of the large-heart gene factor also transmitted (to Winx) due to a compacted order and synthesis of two strains – that of strains family 2 & 3.

TBL noticed a similar pattern working at hidden-depths of the above.

The maternal tap-root line of those superior individuals at 9th remove reveals compacting lines which ‘fuse’ and re-ignite when 1 or more of strains are nicked, as occurring  through the stallion.

The prime index factor is undoubtedly Alamahoud, ancestress Mother Goose & 2-d strain; the dam line producing Machiavllian (USA) , Northern Dancer and Halo (USA), read as 6sx6sx9Dx6d.

Mother Goose

Mother Goose

Further more, the 2-d strain (differing but same seed) through Hurry on 9Dx9D.

TBL observed Sunline’s maternal tap-root merged on 2-d strains through sires Hurry On (GB) & Nothing Venture (GB) and the 2 inbred strains of Polymelus 3-e, sire of great racemare Cinna, co-relationship John O’ Gaunt 3-e and also Colorado 3-l.

Secretariat (2-s) and many cohesive  2 strains (again, maternal tap root) particularly through the 2-o strain an those of 3-e (Polymeus) and 3-i via Galopin and Brown Prince.

Phar Lap (2-r) where the family strain branched from 2-n, also compacted upon same. The 3 strain is pointedly via Flying Dutchman 3-i and global ancestress matriarch Pocahontas 3-m.

Winx –  referencing 2-D strains of Almahound, the resemblance (as family strains) emerges through 4th maternal dam, Vegas Street (NZ) to her siring strains those of Sovereign Path via Bobsleigh(GB)  3-l and Winalot (GB) 3-i AND 9th dam, Silverado (GB) 3-i & Nassau (GB) 3-l.

As TBL has ‘championed’ through other articles, it is not the individuals, but what they carry within as determination. see Smokin’ over a pedigree…

We are not talking horse a, horse b, horse c as separate or individual influences. We are looking for the firm genetic ties to accumulate upon ‘truer’ family blood at origination-point.

Winx’s sire – Street Cry’s broodmare sire Troy carries the particular strain 3-i. The broodmare carries a strain of 3-e (Palestine GB) .

And of course through Street Cry there is Nashua 3-m ….relating to the foundational  Byerley Turk.

turkmen-3

ancestry & inheritance always ‘returns’
