THE GOOD BREEDERS CLUB
“A small chestnut, neatly put together though a little lacking in substance, he arrived draggle-tailed and looking sorry for himself. The long journey from England had distressed him. His purchasers, inspecting him, each secretly wondered had they been sold a pig in a poke. Yet within days he had shaken off the effects of his travels; and soon his first crop of foals launched his career as a stallion as scintillating as his own first year as a racehorse. when he had won five of his six starts and on merit, earned second topweight in the Free Handicap for two-year-olds in England”.
