Eljazzi, Frankel

Famed racing writer Steve Haskin wrote of Stage Door Johnny, “No one knows how great Stage Door Johnny could have been and how he would have fared against the mighty Dr. Fager and Damascus. More than half a century later, we are still left wondering, “What if?”  (credit – Reference)

latest Profile @ 2-year-old Frankel colt Oxagon from Endless Charm by Dubawi www.pedigreequery.com/oxagon

I think we have seen a VERY GOOD horse here

FRANKEL colt 2 year-old OXAGON (Frankel x Endless Charm) makes a statement.

He is off the mark. He is trained by J Gosden and is a homebred of Prince Faisalpic.twitter.com/07JOdP1EDk

— Jess Samy (@FrankelWatch13) July 30, 2025

Biomechanical at cadence & stride length is the class of the Frankel’s – an average winning distance of progeny @9.4 furlongs with a superb momentum ability to strongly finish.

Oxagon is again Eljazzi star pedigree that really just has to be turf gold. As distaff @Eljazzi (f.f. 7-a) seemingly betrothed to stallion making like Pride of Dubai (Aus) & Invincible Spirit (IRE), Pinatubo, Kodiac further hails https://thebreedingshed.wordpress.com/2020/07/12/prix-du-jockey-club-winner-mishriff-the-latest-star-from-eljazzi-family/ finds the ‘affinity’ in female family (Danzig f.f.7-a) & where upon Oxagon ped. > 3×5 Danzig integrates also Rockefella sire of Bounteous, Eljazzi’s dam and solidly builds @ Haplotype L3a1a.

Many a sire x dam – with lines follow a familiar & familial pattern.

– Frankel is (as was figured) places importantly Haplotype N2 (or family 1) to Stage Door Johnny & no surprise through (at dam) Dubawi >> Shirley Heights comes under its Table. + (f.f. 1-l) also emerges to Master Derby > Generous 3rd dam sire.

“Let’s Hope she is Good”

https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/news/from-1.85-million-top-lot-to-epsom-starlet-minnie-hauk-secures-her-place-in-history-with-oaks-triumph-a3u0L9W9R4Zi/

Minnie Hauk is not just efficient but also tactically adaptable — able to settle, quicken, and sustain a long run-in. Her 7.32m stride isn’t the longest, but her ability to stretch at key moments make the essential difference.

🏇 Minnie Hauk showed some impressive stride metrics during her win in the 2025 Cheshire Oaks at Chester: ⬇️⬇️

  • Average stride length: 7.32 meters — ranking her 3rd longest in the field.
  • Top speed: 37.51 mph — reached during a strong mid-race surge.
  • Acceleration: Took 6.2 seconds to reach 30 mph from the stalls.
  • Final furlongs: Closed in 12.54s, 12.79s, and 12.56s — showing consistent pace under pressure.
  • Finishing speed: 104% — indicating she maintained momentum through the line.
  • Winning time: 2:29.15 on good ground — competitive historically for this race.

🏇 Sire Frankel’s stride data was the stuff of Legends.

  • Stride length: Measured at a peak of 8.32 meters (27.3 feet) during the 2011 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. That’s significantly longer than the average elite racehorse, which typically clocks in around 7.3 meters.
  • Cadence (stride frequency): 2.4 strides per second, slightly above the average for milers (~2.3 sps). This balance of long stride and high cadence is rare and contributes to his sustained cruising speed.
  • Efficiency: Each stride covers more ground with fewer steps, meaning Frankel could maintain high speeds with less energy expenditure—an indicator of elite aerobic capacity.

A combination of long stride + high cadence is what made Frankel so devastating over a mile. Most horses excel at one or the other—he mastered both.

Minnie Hauk proves too strong in the Group One Juddmonte Irish Oaks, pushed home by Ryan Moore for Aidan O'Brien, as her form goes from strength to strength 🏆@JuddmonteFarms pic.twitter.com/jBmhdSnFhV

— The Curragh Racecourse (@curraghrace) July 19, 2025

In the Irish Oaks, Minnie Hauk settled in third, quickened late, and won by 1¼ lengths, showing a deceptively relaxed style that masked her underlying power. The Efficiency to maintain speed with minimal energy loss—echoing Frankel’s hallmark trait of combining long stride with high cadence.

Breeding Influences to Watch

Herbager – 6sx7dx8d,

Herbager distinguished (family 3-c), @ haplotype > A1A.

Herbager and following descendants can be marked as classic consistent inherent. His sire Vandale, the great patriarch of Stayers @ Son-In-Law male line extinct, sire of numerous classic winners. Herbager a winner of the French Derby and Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and beaten once as a 3 year old.

His dam Flagette, producing Herbager 1956, she grew too big to be trained and put to stud. Is this where Lake Victoria gets her size from??

As above & ‘if’ correct designation... an extinct female family line 3-c, it also produced and pertinent to filly pedigree Chance Play (USA) by Fair Play, 2nd dam sire to Buffalo Lark (USA) as 6th dam sire of Lake Victoria! Old is Gold…

Pavot – 9x9x9 –

Pavot ( Case Ace (Teddy) – Coquielicot by Man O’War has @haplotype L4), the Distaff of Riverman. Say no more….

Generals Sister – Count Fleet/Pavot

7x Count Fleet

Chainstore – 2nd dam of Haafhd (GB) (our last post comments: the real old american families built thru). 📌Pin that influence upon> To Market (USA)

Noholme (Aus) 7×7 >> Star Kingdom

Noholme, a strain-line to stamp soundness. Sire of General Holme (USA) & Nodouble (USA), Noholme’s phenotype is the measure. Noholme full-brother Todman (AUS) where Noholme went considered much hardier and more versatile.

I remember him as a slender, wiry, undersized bright chestnut with a wonderfully flexible physique and an elastic stride – all of which more than compensated for his lack of inches. Noholme was measured at 15.2 hands. He was an out-and-out champion and as a pint-sized three year old, ran a mile in the near Australasian record time of 1 minute, 34.5 seconds at Randwick. He also clocked a sizzling 1 minute 34.9 seconds in whipping nineteen older horses in the 1959 AJC Epsom Handicap as an early three-year-old. As full brother of Todman, Noholme would have been expected to show outstanding speed, but it was his efforts over longer distances that singled him out as a genuine champion in the highest class. He simply ‘played’ with the best open-aged stayers in Australia. (reference Ross du Bourg – The Australian and New Zealand Thoroughbred)

Noholme, an all the way winner of the 1959 weight for age Cox Plate. Won by 4 lengths in a course record time of 2 minutes 2.7 secs.

The Noholme electric refinement – Fools Holme in South Africa

Haplotype G goes assigned to Family 9-e (Chainstore, Zafonic), as is 9-h (Urban Sea), ( 9-b (Bluebird USA)

5×5 Blushing Groom – https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/108449/the-international-influence-of-blushing-groom – the fast sire line and sterling turn of foot

Broodmare sire Showcasing (GB) – 4×4 Lyphard, 5dx5d Tamarett, 5sx5s Never Bend

Stood at Haunui Farm New Zealand – a dominant sire of 2 year olds in New Zealand – https://www.facebook.com/haunuifarm/videos/1599156880097463/

Noholme ultimately provided a priceless and highly refined international outcross where his robust breeding in distaff appears to Lake Victoria.
