Going for home, Victoria Derby 2024 winner Goldrush Guru (American Pharoah – Glam Guru by Medaglia D’oro) https://www.pedigreequery.com/goldrush+guru

(excerpt from last post) The French classic bred went for stamina and staying ability. Teddy of the female family 2-n indicates @Haplotye L4. Herbager (FR) through his sire Vandale (FR) appears to be firstly, main carrier @Haplotye through Vanille/Vaya (FR). But there IS another in affinity-pedigree, Le Fabuleux. His broodmare sire, Verso II, was out of the mare Variete (La Farina-Vaya by Beppo). Variete is a full sister to Vanille, dam of Herbager’s sire Vandale. Thus where Herbager and Le Fabuleux appear there comes a cross in full sister. (ex E. Parker, http://www.reines-de-course.com)

@ family 3-c and as dams are very special duly the Haplotype A1a + 9479T>C. Its significance maybe an Andalusian root mare ?

Compare affinity : American Pharoah at grandsire Unbridled > b/m sire Le Fabuleux (Verso distaff Vaya)) with on dam-side, Glam Guru >> Le Filou (FR) Vatout male line & Folkestone (USA) @ Vandale dam line to grand-dam Vaya by Beppo. Plus Tulyar (Tehran) of the Vatout male line at 4th dam of Fusaichi Pegasus. Additionally, Beppo is the broodmare sire of Gay Crusader from dam Gay Laura.

5th dam by Le Filou by Vatellor (FR) the New Zealand SIRE of 406 foals – 17 crops (only 24 foals per crop on average). 56 SW (an amazing 13.8%) and 22 Gr 1’s. Including two Melbourne Cups: Light Fingers, Red Handed. 2 Auckland Cups: Floutulla, Senor. 2 Wellington Cups: Bon Filou, Michael Molloy. Brisbane Cup: Fulmen. New Zealand Cup: Noir Filou. 4 Derby / 3 Oaks winners. Champion sire ’61-62, ’63-64, 1965-66, 66-’67.

Goldrush Guru Distaff @ 2x Cinna, the early New Zealand developed blue blood dam of Balloch & Gay Shield. (more below)

Cinna, La Fleche
Cinna also dam of Beau Pere (broodmare sire of Swaps (USA) & 2nd dam sire Graustark (USA)), Mr Standfast, Dink. 2x Cinna @ Grenfall, 2nd dam sire Yankee Gentleman (USA) b/m sire AMERICAN PHAROAH.

American Pharoah figures pretty well to Hyperion & male line descendants and its great to observe (2x) Forli in sire of Folkestone whom served in Australia though a sire of little consequence. Nevertheless his dam’s lines inclusive of Vandale are regarded as fine.

The broodmare sire Medaglia d’Oro elite, consistent, unfailing…. https://www.bloodhorse.com/stallion-register/stallions/132019/medaglia-doro His sire El Prado has 4×5 Turn-To, 3x Selene, 3x Mahmoud, Forli whilst Medaglia’s dam has 4×5 Sunday Evening (Eight Thirty/Royal Minstrel by Tetratema by The Tetrarch. ) Complete, 3x Royal Charger. Striking are the 12x Teddy, 11x Swynford, 9x The Tetrarch, 10x St Simon.

Goldrush Guru by American Pharoah – greatly bred to win the 2024 Victoria Derby.

I couldn’t stop him – he wanted to do another lap – Jamie Kah (jockey)
