She captured TBL’s attention: She’s A Thief, a grey filly by Showcasing (GB) from Steal (AUS) by Red Ransom (USA).

Smitten TBL was….her diminutive size with easy, effortless running, taking the lead and stating ‘whoopee’ to the rest.
Came, a wanting question – where does her effortlessness winning form come from?
In the same week, it was sad n’ happy (for the memories) where New Zealand lost an old racing folk hero, the toughie an’ great Castletown, where Castletown was from my own home-town, good ol’ Foxton.
(Saying Hello…. Chris Waller/Paddy Busuttin – Foxton lads)
On Castletown, TBL watched his old videos and studied the great pedigree. Hmmm…..

TBL couldn’t get that girl (She’s A Thief) out of his mind….. she’s lovely, she’s grey, she’s magic. Yep.
Hmmm, TBL say’s, hmmm….
Speed/action, x-factor grit.
‘I’m thinkin’….
are you another ♥ Winx
Always & always, the relationships of pedigree never cease to amaze…. She’s A Thief, Castletown, Winx (different era’s ….let’s plug, why)

Sovereign Edition (IRE) 1962
“He was a very bulky, heavy built specimen with a grey coast rapidly turning white……Sovereign Edition had a rather conceited, almost condescending air about him ……
Sovereign Edition captured the coveted Dewar Stallion Trophy in 1976-77 with combined earning in Australian and New Zealand of $624,085.” Ross de Bourg
Sovereign Edition progeny of top-class gallopers include Surround bred by Cambridge Stud, from the ‘Dulcie’ family.
Surround was the champion Australian Horse of the Year in 1976 & 1977.
“Sovereign Edition was the Broodmare sire to Gurner’s Lane, a chestnut gelding (1982/1983 Australian Horse of the Year) & Beau Zam (NZ), & Bounding Away, grey mare Australian Horse of the Year 1985-86 & Empire Rose NZ ch. Mare 1988 VRC Melbourne Cup winner & Mackinnon Stakes winner.
Dam’s Sire SOVEREIGN EDITION sired million and 99SW’s including KAAPTIVE EDITION, BOUNDING AWAY, GURNER”S LANE, EMPIRE ROSE, SOVEREIGN RED and BEAU ZAM “-
The above figures give him phenomenal potential as a broodmare sire. Now proven by the outstanding sale at Tattersalls Broodmare sale in London in 000 and her weanling Green Desert sold for A$1,672,000 and yearling fetching A$688,000 – credit @ http://wandarri.com.au/stallions.html
forget Xmas present folks…. 4,5 generations we’re ticking the grey stallion….TBL is picking were the genetic slow-cooking of Sovereign Edition descendants are a-rising exceptional & highly influential, to again master inheritance in maternal breeding.
It makes… never to evaporate the 13-a dynastic strains. You can’t do-without…..check.
STRAINS. I repeat… quality strains-are-the-genetic-trains, holding pedigree.
TBL is teasing himself on a grey filly at Karaka 2018. Lot 694 Power/Wave to Lottie.
Very, very nice.
