Delighted to hear the big news on super race-mare Winx is to visit the awesome sire Too Darn Hot (GB) (https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/winx-to-visit-too-darn-hot/

so distinctive has the @New Zealand distaff Winx Family 5-b, to these winners…

With short preamble to deep horse history, G Haplotypes appear to be the genetic improvers. Pedigrees can’t explain this. Going beyond narratives, three-hundred-year history studbook with areas at science resources which also may yet bring a bigger picture.

Whilst so much genetic information hangs on the ‘speed’ gene, the lay-man interpretation has been (of late) whittled down to 3 categories, a RH type with domination in frequency. (n.b. for the record – am not science academic trained, however knowledge of EBV’s in the stock-game to grasp one trait development also goes to other traits considered.)

The combination of all ‘types’, come genotype arrangement @ I:I, NI or NN, C-C, C-T, T-T. As always… I like to think of the wiser words come Ken McLean.

Commercial racehorse breeders aim to meet the juvenile market by attempting to cross speed with speed. Do they realize that muscle fibres of sprinters are quite different in texture to those of classic performers? Sprinters possess muscle fibres which rapidly develop with a minimum of exercise – quite unlike muscle fibres of the stayer who needs long, steady exercise to develop peak fitness.

Elsewhere, its been mentioned there is not one domineering ‘preferable’ Haplotype for the modern bred yet the perennial questions are to remain what breeds?

The puzzle is not missing genetic information, rather sometimes other criteria applied.

From different sources, it came with wry surprise the family numbered 2N and 9 (exception 9-c) might be 1 n’ same, co-affinity ‘G’ haplotype. Here… it changes the whole ball-game of one’s analysis-interpretation because it may uphold pre-Dominant breeding ‘types’ dramatically.

The article as cited, refers another’s breed history, prior English TB and concludes the modern TB emerged upon different type-set (link) ➡️https://www.duruttya.com/?mod=regarding-the-breeding-nature-of-russian-thoroughbreds Additionally, the different conditions with purpose(s) to breed, ie long- distance versus short speed distance delivers bred ‘outcome’.

It is very important to see that ‘speed’ doesn’t act alone. Yes obviously this ‘speed’ has been prime objective and dictate of the turf, come modern English thoroughbred.

A criteria is getting the ‘true’ source as a first, the domestic bred, thence the carriers, the contributors and the critical mass improvement/upgraders.

At our last post, it was highlighted where Hyperion’s dam Selene via Cyllene, integrates to Teddy/Damascus, through G haplotype nutshell. Rather than lineation-fixed its route, has zig-zag recessive.

“She is a very very tough horse with a lot of ability and a good turn of foot.”

Vegas Queen (NZ) @ LOVERACING.NZ

Its exploitation upon pedigree, for G2 winner Vegas Queen by Proisir ex- Miss Vegas by Carlton House https://www.pedigreequery.com/vegas+queen4 has Star Way (6×4 Selene, + 2x Alchemist, fam. 9H)- Centaine by Better Boy (fam 2N). The complex zig-zag…#G Haplotype. Nature loves hybrid-vigour (different lines, same source).

“he’s just a war-horse” Tommy Berry on Gingotts (NZ)

Gingotts has a little different tilt @ line-bred 8x Native Dancer however 13x Hyperion, 11xSelene through her multiple son sires. But what goes so interesting… @ Native Dancer, has that lines Sickle/Fairy Play/Cyllene are displaying the co-affinity G Haplotype. https://www.pedigreequery.com/gringotts3

Common to each (Winx, Miss Vegas & Gingotts) has sire, Street Cry. Apart from an enormous upgrader and Elite sire – the big question is Why?

It is best explained Street Cry develops distaff Worden (FR) back through Teddy daughter Tara, + 10x Teddy. Relocate Family 2N as G Haplotype. (n.b. other sources Have family 2 as haplotype L4.)

@ Winx/Too Darn Hot & for mine goes to the familial around Too Darn Hot’s distaff to Delsy https://www.pedigreequery.com/delsy Tourbillon male line & her #BT distaff, 5x Teddy, Pherozshah, Pharis, Marsyas (Son-In-Law) & Man O’ War. In a nutshell threading the uncanny to families 9e, 9f to 2N has that ‘streak of lightening’.

Further to Too Darn Hot > Singspiel 5×3 Herbager.

Former Post @ Too Darn Hot Eyes on a Perfect Sire – Too Darn Hot (GB)

A pre-Dominant Haplotype suggests…

{**History has Persian ‘Nisaean’ horses from Nisaea, the lower parts of Bactria ( Located in Zagros Mountains in Iran (Persia). They were highly sought after in the ancient world. They were so much coveted that after an Assyrian victory a tribute to them was demanded. Dated about 400BC, shows a horse that today would pass for a small Thoroughbred, such was its conformation and quality.}

Nisaean was a famous ancient horse breed, They where very high, strong and fast animals. }https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Maciej-Janeczek/publication/243457305_The_role_of_Nisaean_horse_in_horse_breeding_in_the_Ancient_World/links/6672a0e5a54c5f0b946e3d8d/The-role-of-Nisaean-horse-in-horse-breeding-in-the-Ancient-World.pdf?origin=publication_detail&_tp=eyJjb250ZXh0Ijp7ImZpcnN0UGFnZSI6InB1YmxpY2F0aW9uIiwicGFnZSI6InB1YmxpY2F0aW9uRG93bmxvYWQiLCJwcmV2aW91c1BhZ2UiOiJwdWJsaWNhdGlvbiJ9fQ&__cf_chl_tk=gbdo0tAPMMdfWeyThnsU8rY928VKeHrleGI_yPpFVvs-1742776756-1.0.1.1-052P_4XfrCO1gq0luj3iQcbbR7yL8b1e6Wi8MF7u0A8

The breed Nisean greatly influences the ancestors of today’s Iberian horse breeds, such as the Carthusian, Lusitano, Andalusian, Barb (horse), and Spanish Mustang. Iberian, Andalusian and Barb haplotypes influence the Thoroughbred!

The Andalusian of Spain is an old established breed and an important one in the development of a number of other breeds, particularly the Lipizzaner. For centuries the mount of kings and emperors, the Andalusian was taken across to the ‘New World’ where its blood is found in both North and South American Breeds.

Racing authority John (Salvator) Hervey commented: “It is the belief of the great majority of Turfmen – and a reasoned one – that Challedon… is one of the greatest Thoroughbreds ever seen in this country.

There was an old & odd tale Native Dancer went possibly sired by Challedon not Polynesian. (later…we’ll compare each affinity & their genetic attributes)

To the higher ground – let’s appreciate both Challenger & son Challedon by their influences upon superior racehorses noted further below.

Challenger by Swynford

Challenger (GB) from Sword Play, the maternal @ f.f.2.g distaff!

Important significance f.f.2g. belonging to influential ancestress SANDA. Her daughter Sierra by Springfield and her daughter Amphora by Amphion. I’m hoping pedigree students realize this earliest speed trait family to produce 1) Sundridge (Amphion – Sierra) being full brother to Amphora.

Plus, and more inclusive to the family – Sierra’s full brother Sainfoin, sire of Rock Sand, sire of Tracery. Sainfoin – broodmare sire of Phalaris.

The history and success http://One of England’s top 2-year-olds in 1929, *Challenger II was owned by Lord Dewar (of the Scottish whiskey fame), who intended to race the son of Swynford in the Epsom Derby. When Lord Dewar died in the spring of 1930, the colt was ordered withdrawn from all upcoming engagements due to English racing rules of the time. Brann and Castle reportedly paid $100,000, withthe intention of racing the colt in the U.S. and then retiring him to stud. 👉 *credit & full article*👈

A tale: Native Dancer sire – Polynesian or Challedon ?

This eyewitness account has Native Dancer’s dam Geisha, as difficult to load and transport. It was decided to walk her across and be served by Polynesian.

Working through each sire, lines and genetics, is to overview what presides upon ancestral elite.

These genetics are centred majorly to Brown Bess (1844) working thru Quiver/ La Fleche aka John O’ Gaunt (Swynford), Cinna (dam o Beau Pere), Uganda (dam of Umidar) and Maid Marian ) dam of Polymelus.

Musket, sire of Carbine is Quiver’s 3/4 brother. Carbine inbred 3×4 to Brown Bess + from Mersey/ Clemence/Martha Lynn f.f. 2h.

Polynesian’s grandsire by Polymelus has dam Brown Bess distaff. Polynesian’s b/m sire Sundridge (Amphion – b/m sire Springfield ) from Sierra aka Sanda f.f.2g

Challedon – the pedigree Challenger from distaff 2.g Sanda + citing, John O’Gaunt/La Fleche +Spearmint/Carbine/Musket + Trenton by Musket ie Musket 6Dx6D ie 3/4 brother Quiver/BBess.

(Sanda is inbred to the brothers Stockwell and Rataplan from Pocahontas (Glencoe). Note paternal grand-sire is Lord Clifden from The Slave aka Martha Lynn. )

Hanseatic by Street Boss (USA) from Itameri (Aus) ex-Exceed and Excel

Hanseatic (rating 72) – the exciting 2 year old Australian chestnut colt owned and bred by Goldolphin.

Three starts, three wins demonstrating his perfect outright class.

This is a pedigree which draws attention to the colts 3rd dam Scandinavia, by Snippets. It is the same distaff to the unbeaten Black Caviar: ‘diamonds’ within a pedigree and her 1/2 brother sire All Too Hard (Casino Prince).

Take note – Female family 1-P – it is a distinguishing strain that mints sprinting prowess.

Hanseatic’s sire Street Boss (USA), by Street Cry (IRE) from a daughter of Ogygian (Blushing Ogygian).

Street Boss – finest n’ fastest son of the late Street Cry. This is the sting to his breeding prowess penetration.

Street Cry is pure prototype breeding – the superior phenotype.

In first instance, to researching the colt Hanseatic,  immediate thoughts went to a cross; akin to Winx’s sire, Street Cry and Black Caviar, via her maternal bloodline to Vain and Snippets (Hornbeam f.f.1-P)/Lunchtime influences.

Reflect, it is Vain’s grand sire the great Court Martial (f.f. 1-P), and to Vain’s phenomenal sire, the French-bred Sire Wilkes, his French half-brother Worden. (n.b. Street Cry’s 4th dam sire Worden, from Sans Taras.

*Wilkes – ( Court Martial – Sans Tares, by the Solario horse Sind from Tara, by Teddy) raced only three times in his life at 3 years in France in 1955. He scored two wins, over 1500 metres and 2000 metres. A maternal half-brother to two winners of the Washington DC International turf classic in Worden II and Mahan. Wilkes was a immediate sensation producing the champion mare Wenona Girl. Wilkes was a tall, long-barralled, rich chestnut with a prominent white blaze and lone lengthy which sock to his near-hindleg. credit – Ross du Bourg

*Court Martial (Fair Trial – Instantaneous, by Hurry On, from Picture, by Gainsborough) A beautiful horse of superb quality, truly made, sound and possessed of excellent limbs…. Speed was Court Martial’s forte, which is reflected in his stock . John Hislop

Shaking up the star factor breeding, re-invigorating Vain vitality: the genotype/phenotype struck, re-emerged.

Vain also impressed by the way he could win races against top-class opponents and yet make it all look so easy.

He was able to carry many pounds over weight-for-age and still score in brilliant fashion. Kenneth Cox -Victoria Racing 1974

I believe that Vain was not only the greatest champion sprinter of the world in 1969, but is the greatest sprinter produced in the history of Australasian breeding…

Vain, the golden power-house chestnut with the rounded, rippling physique was described as ‘the greatest sprinter in the world’ by (then) rival trainer Bart Cummings. (Ross du Bourg, The Australian and New Zealand Thoroughbred)

Seek determining principles to sift over all strains versus an absoluteness inbreeding or to line-breeding, even when those principles ‘format’ the pedigree, as determining prepotency to polish and shine upwards, works the new genotype to phenotype.

Phenotype produces many, produces variation as really Identifying what prototype of breeding Is: distinguish what genetic- Strength through Type and Trait may give, as Intended.

What many may not realize as revolving the breeding is where, 7 generations, infusions influence the Effect, positively or otherwise. Basically the breeding has already incurred.

It is to tickle the latent, rather than heavy dosage direct.

The Hanseatic colt, female family 1-p –  gathering titanium can be sourced to Street Cry, via Troy, via Hornbeam, (n.b. Hornbeam through Snippets/Lunchtime = 2x ) via, his dam Thicket of female family 1-p, via ancestress Hilarity. Hilarity (King Tom from his dam Pocahontas, from dam Nightingale, she inbred 3x to Whalebone! Whalebone is of a Eclipse/Herod cross.

Put that through the pedigree and connect, Connect the mitochondrial bloodline afar – an interestingly, come the crafted gene of old.

Many attempt to over cook a pedigree in attempt to ‘sameness’ similarity, or over-balance, as if a requisite for more speed, which is kind of like asking for more dynamite.

It is such a case less, is more…..balancing the delicate network of strains which orchestrate a fine racehorse; throwing to a bio mechanical ability, again by ‘orchestrating’ genotype/phenotype to achieve its phenomenal speed and power.
