Its been a few years since reviewing New Zealand sire pedigree El Roca.

His 3yo filly Krementz (by El Roca) from dam Cashenti ex-Conatus (Danehill), pedigree.

Firstly, let’s never forget the history built to the Australian and New Zealand breeding scene. So many exceptional influences like Pipe of Peace tail-male Hurry On, Wilkes & Star Kingdom, & earlier the Australasian sire of sires, *Musket.

Musket put the fledging New Zealand thoroughbred industry on the map in one stroke. Beforehand Musket was a virtual unknown. He had been bought in England in the late 1870’s, shipped to New Zealand for a career as a sire of carriage horses. In his first season he served only three stud book mares. His son Martini-Henry won the Victoria Derby and the Melbourne in his first two starts. Australians began scrambling for progeny of Musket. Musket sired a stream of top class horses, that climaxed less than a month before his death in 1885 by the birth of his champion son Carbine, a magnificent bay who galloped the Australian turf like a giant.         (November Gold – Max Lambert)

Old Genetic power bring forth Krementz is a 1400m winner. 4 starts – 2 metro win, 1 – 2nd place. Note her conformation below.

Krementz (above) as a two year old. Ready to Run purchase price $70k.

Haplotype L4 for stamina, speed and weight. It is evident a L4 Haplotype geno complements an extraordinary phenotype ability. With few family exceptions, L4 belongs to the Family 2 but one special ancestress dam calls it big, Martha Lynn, f.f. 2-h and holds to the distaff family of Carbine.

Carbine shot through the field like a thunderbolt.    1890 Melbourne Cup report.

Further to this L 4 Haplotype (female family 2-r) has *Miss Kate’s daughter Catherine Wheel, a grand-daughter of *Musket. More so, f.f.2-r famed to Phar Lap (5×5 Musket) & a distaff, 3xAustralian Horse of the Year Sunline.

her 5th dam Singalong (f.f.2-r) has MUSKET – 👉👉5S x 6D x 6D (f.f.3-h)
(female family 2r distaff @ Blazing Saddles (AUS) a son of **Todman, the 3rd dam sire Krementz

*Miss Kate (f.f.2-r) was dam of Perkin Warbeck (NZ) and he appears to the sire El Roca @ 9th dam.

3×3 Danehill @ 9 strains Carbine, noting Danzig’s 3rd dam ***Felstead is a tail-male Carbine/Musket. Noting...Danehill’s distaff hails from Mother Goose (Chicle) by Spearmint by Carbine (+ noted to Northern Dancer & Halo).

-***Felstead notes to El Roca via Millionaire’s 4th dam & as is, Bletchingly 3rd dam by Felstead.

Felstead was the 1928 Derby winner and his daughter Rockfel was a 1938 Oaks winner. Her breeding fame & son Rockefella (Hyperion) produced Rafha (4×4 Rockefella) dam of Invincible Spirit (IRE). Rockefella is 2nd dam grand-sire to Sunline (commented above)

Krementz 5th dam by Star Kingdom’s son Shifnal (dam Oceana) at 6 strains Star Kingdom, additionally > 6sx5D **Todman from same dam Oceana.

  Oceana is f.f. 1-u and takes co-affinity to Selene, f.f. 6-e aka 15x Hyperion and 3x Big Game @ L3a1b Haplotype. (n.b. bloodlines.net indicates studbook errors)

The Star Kingdom influence through sons, grand-sons and daughter descendants was Australasian breed-shaper. Star Kingdom goes enormous and it is Todman, Biscay son Bletchingly, Marscay, Zephyr Bay marks superior classic quality. 8dx7d Pipe of Peace (the male-line, tail-male Hurry On). Pipe of Peace hails f.f. 22-d, 3rd dam Infra Red, has distaff-line same Mill Reef, the sire of Millionaire and sire of El Roca 2nd dam Mill Rani. The family 22-d has L3a1a Hapotype (n.b. Mill Rani’s daughter Millrich is dam of Redzel – 2017/2018 Everest winner and dam of sire Danerich).

  • 8x7x7 Relic (via, Bletchingly, Soviet Star, Rory’s Jester, the male line, US bred strains to Man O’War – essential prototype. It is the superior, classic blue-print explosion ancestral and nucleus male lines , as is upon Rubiton.

Krementz’s 8th dam by Pherozshah – the half-brother to Mahmoud f.f. 9-c, empress Mumtaz Mahal ). The Aga Khan bred sire Pherozshah came to New Zealand in 1944.

  • Clock the Mahmoud daughters thru Northern Dancer, Danehill, His Majesty, 2nd dam sire Roan Rocket with Pherozshah + Venture (Relic) b/m sire of Soviet Star
  • Mumtaz Mahal pouring through e.g. Nasrullah, Abernant, Prince Taj, Lucky Bag, Tudor Minstrel, Fair Trial, Royal Charger, Badruddin where her far-reaching genetics are pure Powerhouse. And cleverly, diverse ‘Mutiple’ across i.e. subtle female affinities factoring
  • the family number 9-c has L1a Haplotype

And so, as the Musket/Carbine/Spearmint era went by – their breeding further exploded that goes beyond anything else: the female contributor and influential Plucky Liege where sired by Spearmint cannot ever go genetically annulled. She is the dam of Sir Gallahad, full brother Bull Dog, half-brothers Admiral Drake and Bois Roussel.

@ Krementz pedigree, Plucky Liege influences are seen to Buckpasser, Admirals Voyage, Nijinsky, Royal Academy, Only for Life/Millionaire/El Roca, Habitat, Blazing Saddles (AUS)

(n.b. Plucky Leige is extremely influential to numerous US Derby winners like White Abarrio – to catch, White Abarrio

Indeed further classic factors course to Krementz with Wilkes (7d x 6d). Wilkes was a three times champion Australian sire and notably four times champion sire of 2 yr olds. Also of Krementz pedigree, Soviet Star (USA) – his bloodlines may be better remembered by the name of New Zealand bred Starcraft – Australian 3yo champion and sire of Star Witness.

waste not genetics they can come hot

Carbine might never have left Australia but for a bank crash which forced Wallace, a wealthy grazier and racehorse owner and breeder, to sell up. Purchased by the Duke of Portland, Carbine was shipped to England to the Duke’s Welbeck Abbey Stud, where he stood alongside St Simon. Several thousand people flocked to the dockside in Melbourne to say farewell when Carbine was loaded on to the steamer for England. (November Gold – Max Lambert)

🐴 Musket daughter Ante Diem was sent to Argentina in 1884.

The ANTE DIEM family has accounted for at least 19 Argentine Classic winners, among them 1931 Triple Crown winner MINERAL, as well as many other winners of top races in both Argentina and Brazil. Ante Diem include genetic giant sire, Penny Post (Embrujo).
