For a yearling purchase of $A40k – our subject pedigree the Foxwedge 3yo colt, Lunar Fox Lunar Fox Horse Pedigree (pedigreequery.com) took the 2021 VRC Australian Guineas title. As a 2yo he won the Sires Produce Stakes (1400m).

Given no chance by the punters, he was a 300-1 long shot. Say no more…

Ever since watching New Zealand’s G.1 race mare Volpe Veloce, we far appreciated the versatile Fastnet Rock son & sire Foxwedge. Foxwedge Horse Pedigree (pedigreequery.com)

Foxwedge stands at Woodside Park for service fee $A11,000. His latest progeny, G1 daughter Run Fox Run races in South Africa winning the 1000m Cape Flying Championship.

     – ++ add to that…Lunar Fox’s 4th tail-dam as sired by Alleged (Hoist the Flag – Princess Pout)

– Alleged, the two-times Prix de’Arc de Triomphe winner and champion 3yo in England & France, where the 6th tail-dam hails Cinq a Sept.💥

Going through pedigrees, the pre-potent females are still there, out there... yet comes of a factor under-utilized, even carelessly ignored.

The peril.. to not seize those female pre-potent factors.

Of greater genotype to genetic finesse are hidden details within details – not entirely the map heading its – 3×4 inbreeding, nor the majority multiples, to line-breeding.

– we have been looking at older stats from Bluebood’s publications: these stats by arion.co.nz hinted a strong clue WHY pre-determined sire’s take pedigree pre-potency to another level.

We found –

  •  there is a consistent XY TRANSMITTOR
  •  they ARE few alone, in the range 5% top

Recognizing these transmit their own, a dominance: the allelle(s) of a certain strain/genus stamps ‘over’ everything else.

It appears (for whatever reason) a few high-quality but forgotten’ back’  breeding factors shall go ‘unseen’ ; perhaps progeny did not give ‘immediacy’. Yet once that pond has settled, their re-emergence ‘marks out’ undoubtedly.

The case in point to the subject colt’s sire Extreme Choice, has a sharp influence to Raja Baba (USA). (n.b. opening his pedigree IS self-explanatory…)

– Raja Baba by Bold Ruler from Miss Baba. Note: his 1/2 sister is Gay Missile (USA) the dam of Gay Mecene  (USA)and maternal sire of Annabaa. (refer below)

(n.b. Gay Missile hails to the same family to Summer Squall by Storm Bird,  A P Indy (Seattle Slew) & Lemon Drop Kid (Kingmambo) 

Extreme Choice a sprinter for 7 starts for 4 wins. I shall suggest he is a young australian sire ahead of his time. The mitDNA goes per family 12C, esteemed as the Whiteshirt mare. (→ 1 Trait in a Genetic Ocean – II) 

Whist the numbers down can not yet define Extreme Choice/ broodmare sire cross, an indication (reservedly) is the influential female family 1P aka Hornbeam to his pedigree of the great classic influencers.

The european sprinter Annabaa, a son of Danzig and the colt’s broodmare sire – Annabaa sired the amazing Irish bred  mare Goldikova. She inbred 4×4 to Riverman.

It is to the past building influences of the maternal dam that in our book has the deciding design ahead. The powerful of ALL is the perpetual and ancestral trait that is the ‘Stamp’ – these belonging to sons and all lineages to Djebel/Tourbillon/Ksar/Brueleur, its genetic band width.

To our subject – these alike ‘band-widths’ come built through this colts 5th dam a grand-daughter of Djebel and plus as infused via, Bay Phantom (USA) grand-sire Ambiorix (FR), a son of Tourbillon.

Our past analysis has commented much of prototype conduits. They’re sitting beneath the surface and re-surfacing – as such is the case re: Bay Phantom (USA) family 2h.

– by referencing to the 4th dam Helen Drake (USA), it draws upon 4sx4s Domino 23b (the backbone family to American Bloodstock families) and 3dx3d to Hurley Burley (family 2h). This once gain is the genetic doorway to Martha’s daughters… (or re-read → Secretariat and Carbine, ad infinitum

Where the colt, Stay Inside, has 5sx3Dx5D Danzig…do note the greater tap-maternal influence is Felstead to male-linage of great-grand-sire Carbine (family 2h) i.e. conduit Type factor

By now we may appreciate the colt Stay Inside is richly bred and as mightily has his racing back-bone well- together to an European/American inheritance model.

Medina Spirit (US) 3 year old colt (Protonico – Mongolian Changa ex- Brilliant Speed)

The subject pedigree Medina Spirit makes little suggestion as non-commercial type – by the Giants Causeway stallion son Protonica – his stud fee @ $US,5000k

Trained by Bob Baffert, Medina Spirit is a qualifying contender for the 2021 Kentucky Derby.

Florida-bred, this yearling colt Medina Spirit – prior sold for $US1000 to a later breeze-up purchase at $35k.

The insight to his pedigree has an interesting if not, fascinating twist.

3 yr old NZ gelding – Aegon (Sacred Falls (NZ) – Toss Up (NZ) ex- Zabeel ) 

4 wins from 4, winner of G1 NZ 2000 Guineas 1600m  + G 2 Hawkes Bay Guineas 1400m +Karaka Million 3YO Classic (1600m)

The prior article SACRED FALLS (NZ) potency  illustrated the young New Zealand sire. He sadly deceased from a liver condition in 2019.

Sacred Falls 3 year old gelded son Aegon, went purchased for $NZ150k at NZ Bloodstock Yearling Sales.

This yearling colt had captured the purchasers ‘eye’… athletic, nicely balanced where not overly large yet, the colt had some extra appeal.

– it appears, the gelded son of Sacred Falls (a dual Doncaster miler) shall emulate his sire’s racing abilities.

Postulating the breeding & genetics – the TBL view is to target ‘why/how’ a quality sire over dam meets genotype ‘advanced’ via and thru numerous individuals represented. Where these lend towards or backwards upon old bones, exemplary strains that do exist distinct, they the exalted ones not to be missed, only be ever more so appreciated.

– the integrity of the racehorse thoroughbred to its ancestral bones has paid more principle than could ever be believed. Simply – prototype equals the on-top, dominant.

These exalted ones are the decisive: they are forever, laser sharp, integral to a sport horse finest. Supreme – they are ‘short’ (i.e. no shuttle, no numbers ‘mass’)

Where theory to breeding has reasonable explanatory, it is not the only means to evaluating.

The differentiation compels towards allele dominance supported by attribution traits and yes of course, the study of line-breeding brings thru the main radius of blood.

Solitary, forgotten(?), lost-to, lack of knowledge(s) this has the art of gathering familial bloodlines. Their Genetics are a valuable source & revelation to manifest over repeated generations as to re-evolve where these defiantly DNA ‘transmit’.

They have the ‘missing’ details to discern & examine.

First… the obvious Aegon factors to 5×5 Northern Dancer and 5×5 Mill Reef. Had (personally) always thought O’Reilly (sire of Sacred Falls) was of the chiefly, Princequillo conduit type – there via, Mill Reef. Plus, Sacred Falls 5th dam has grand-sire Princequillo.

The cross-nick applied O’Reilly over Zabeel mares has Princequillo through Sir Tristram. However back…deeper & collectively 9x’s Princequillo preside via Milan Mill, Round Table, Bourbon Prince, Somethingroyal and Monarchy.

What the above emanates… to draw another & how often is it (?) …the familial blue-hen collectively… and easily over looked.

Peruse once again Aegon’s pedigree Aegon Horse Pedigree (pedigreequery.com) for Knights Daughter/Feola – the female family 2f to identify her transmittance, the Conduit factor via, Tell Tell Horse Pedigree (pedigreequery.com) (notably… 2×3 Knights Daughter!!), Round Table and significantly, Tale of the Cat – infused via his daughter, grand-daughter & dam, Toss Up (NZ).

So what does the sire Sacred Falls expose?

No matter what…a sire in his purist design shall reproduce the best of himself.

He will slot into anything…but essentially is an up-grader across all the broodmare numbers given to him.

‘Scrubbing up’ the exclusive genotype pattern, takes the shining light on depths of old to modern day thin, the German bred bloodlines, via dam Fimatino.

Everything of dam, plays hand to bold, stamina constitutional condition – what propels raw, abundant ability by class and speed, through back substance(s) competitive, stay-ability blood.

Important to note: she inbred to The Palmer (family 5i, ancestress Diversion: where this  homozygous siring nick patterns, via and same ‘collide’ –  Sharpen Up dam Rocchetta, family 5i/Diversion). Athene’s other in-bred 5×5 Buccaneer (GB) sired by Wild Dayrell, a special, special rarity.

Do note… Athene’s daughter-descendant Alexandra (Ger) has 3x’s to Athanasius (Ger) he the son of Athene (family 16). Ticino ex- dam Alexandra, an extremely successful sire produced Neckar, Niederlander, Mogul, and Orsini. Alexandra ⇔ 5th maternal to Fimatino; pedigree has the Engine.

Whilst numerous favorable accountabilities to pedigree might satisfy the researchers heart… it is interesting via grand-dam sire Luskin Star through to the male-line → Star Kingdom’s pedigree has 4×4 Sunstar (Sundridge) from the family 5i (Diversion) and 5×5 Canterbury Pilgrim, where the grand-dam sire has The Palmer family 5i, (Diversion).
