A day short of her 18th birthday the great Australian mare Black Caviar passed.

In a class of her own – she truly captured people’s admiration around the racing world to enchant young and old alike including the late Queen, Queen Elizabeth II, after her Royal Ascot win.

RIP the Imperial, Black Caviar.

Before any analysis began on Theblade’s sire Toronado, our hunch that Court Martial had to be present. Court Martial comes in to the broodmare sire of Sassafras (Fr) through his son Ratification (GB) as 4th dam sire to sire Toronado (Ire).

Notably, female affinities thru to i) William the Third ii) daughter ain female-ancestor Winkipop. The female co-affinity further assigns – Broodmare sire Casino Prince thru Belle of Ireland (dam of Kenmare (Fr), Gay Crusader in Djebel, Big Game/Bahram, 3rd dam sire Foxhunter from dam Trimestal, Donatello in mare Garden Green (3rd dam of Casino Prince) & Vatout tail male descendant Faubourg (FR). We also have Nashua b/m sire 5×5 Mr Prospector with Count Fleet thru Contessina & Display sire of Discovery as b/m sire Native Dancer. Darshaan in Toronado – 5×3 Umidwar b/m sire Bridaine (FR) from a William the Third daughter Bitter Orange. Darshaan sire Shirley Heights – 6×4 Djebel > Gay Crusader, Count Fleet, Shirley heights 2nd dam sire Grandmaster (IRE) of the Vatout line.

Theblade – 5x5x5 Danzig – note his sire Northern Dancer to b/m sire Native Dancer is a strain to William the Third from son Nassovian. Plus, Danzig’s 3rd dam by Felstead from dam Felkington where her dam Comparison, a daughter of William the Third.

Indeed the inter-relationship complexity to William the Third in its collective mass is phenomenal. Finding William the Third’s influences rather than pinning upon St Simon alone paramount.

Without William the Third, sire of 1,000 Guineas winner Winkipop, there would be no Court Martial, or a Black Caviar family. Vale Black Caviar.

🐴Group 2 Roses winner: Scarlet Oak by Kermadec (NZ) from Tactless (AUS) by Commands

The former New Zealand raced filly, a subject pedigree to strains: Sans Tara / Tara where TBL research has indicated the importance for some time. This Tara strain, present to Fuji Kiseki (JPN) – Wolverton & 3rd dam Awards Ceremony (Aus).

The family 13c is attributed to #Haplotye I2a – Iberian type ancestry. Similarly, classification to such affinity type may associate family branches 4 to the 2nd b/m sire Quest for Fame as inherent Pieces of Eight by Relic male line to #GA Man O’ War as also #GA, Hurry On sire sons Precipitation – line #GA that makes its Type through elite mare Eight Carat.

Firstly, we have researched the Juliet branch fairly extensively. We are very sure it is the “I” haplotype”

Secondly the “I” haplotype has a number of Lowe families that are one and the same mare that pre-dates the stud book. The I2a founder mare was probably born 2000+ years ago but has a lot of different Lowe families in it.

Blandford family 3-o equates #Haplotype L2b1a hence Sunday Silence. The uncommon knowledge is that the family 3 has affinity to family 2-d.It is now noted of family 2d are of 2 designations i) L4 and ii) L2b1a. While like for like (sire across dam) has the main crux intention: the classic male or female contributors seen to racehorse performances are naturally, drawing crucial gene sets and it is contended, they shall come from any non-specific Haplotype. TBL research however considers probable Dominant and Inherent Type.

What a pedigree for mare, Magic Time (Hellbent – Time Awaits from Nicconi).

Star Kingdom 7S x 8S x 7D x 6D (Royal Artist (I am Invincible), Kaoru Star ) – Bletchingly 5sx5d + 6 strains of Olympia has the dominate @25 strains Hyperion, dam Selene f.f. 6-e. Hyperion thru distaff, 7th dam as grand sire + 4 strains to Chanteclair (AUS) The f.f. 6e also appears through Big Game & Mossborough to appreciate all, #Haplotype L3a1b.

Hyperion = the lazy little colt standing at 15.1 1/2hh with a huge popularity stemming from his lack of size. Hyperion’s trainer George Lambton was regularly suffering from bad-health and Lord Derby determined to retire Lambton post Hyperion’s popular Derby win as the smallest Derby winner since Little Wonder in 1840. The new trainer completely underrated Hyperion’s need for and his capacity for hard work and was half fit when going to Ascot for the Gold Cup where Hyperion ran third, with his last race running second. Champion sire for six times, siring 7 Classic winners, his greatest influence as a sire of broodmares inclusive: Alycidon, Carrozza, Citation, Parthia, Ribocco and Ribero. Two more Haplotypes which are significant to the Magic Time pedigree are i) L2b1a, upon mare’s distaff family 3-g alongside family 1-W (Perfume, Lavendula family) – it belonging to Alycidon, (Danzero) & My Babu (Crested Wave) & ii) L1a, family 2f seen to Marsolve, 2x Round Table, Exbury, Atan male line of Kris. The L1a haplotype is akin to/of family 9c.

It is the Danzig and Bletchingly its families 7-a make for outstanding strains,, a familiar Australian cross. The Haplotype has L3a1a.

Having long considered Haplotype L4 (family 2h, Martha Lynn, distinguishes a peak trait quality to superior genotype pedigree, it determines or offers the genomic evaluation is affecting a desirable racing phenotype, noting the ‘pattern’ was already remarkable.
