3yo filly Piccola Piuma Horse Pedigree (Saxon Warrior (JPN) – Shaaqaaf ex- Sepoy (Aus)

Piccola Piuma (IRE) dominated the 117th G2 Premio Oaks d’Italia, held at Milan’s San Siro Racetrack on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Trained by Stefano Botti and ridden by Fabio Branca, she powered clear of the 14-horse field to win by 3, 1/4 lengths. It is her 5th win of 7 races.

Piccola Piuma was purchased for 15,000 Euros (approximately US $17k – AUS $24k ) at Tattersalls Ireland Breeze-up sales. (see Lot 198 )

Moving aside 4×4 daughters of Danehill @ 3x Danzig, she gathers into a refining profile applying the transcendent sire-lines.

The impacting of notable Y sire-lines as referring sire Saxon Warrior (JPN) with distaff @BT Indian Ridge – Broodmare sire, Sepoy (Aus) Star Kingdom’s distaff, building on Cape Cross distaff @BT Ahonoora – Diktat @ GA/GB Warning/In Reality and again, Ahonoora daughter Park Appeal.

To firstly note – Piccala has head and eye of a strong filly as when passed in (20,000 euros). What buyers did or did not see of character mould pheno; the type, their genetics are remembering that the hybrid nature relatable earns a potent contribution outside of the accepted, considered modern prototype (see Lot 198 ).

These much less ‘reported’ sire lines within the pedigree are making the strong genetic move back.
