Breeding Influences to Watch
Herbager – 6sx7dx8d,
Herbager distinguished (family 3-c), @ haplotype > A1A.
Herbager and following descendants can be marked as classic consistent inherent. His sire Vandale, the great patriarch of Stayers @ Son-In-Law male line extinct, sire of numerous classic winners. Herbager a winner of the French Derby and Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and beaten once as a 3 year old.
His dam Flagette, producing Herbager 1956, she grew too big to be trained and put to stud. Is this where Lake Victoria gets her size from??
As above & ‘if’ correct designation... an extinct female family line 3-c, it also produced and pertinent to filly pedigree Chance Play (USA) by Fair Play, 2nd dam sire to Buffalo Lark (USA) as 6th dam sire of Lake Victoria! Old is Gold…

Noholme (Aus) 7×7 >> Star Kingdom
Noholme, a strain-line to stamp soundness. Sire of General Holme (USA) & Nodouble (USA), Noholme’s phenotype is the measure. Noholme full-brother Todman (AUS) where Noholme went considered much hardier and more versatile.
I remember him as a slender, wiry, undersized bright chestnut with a wonderfully flexible physique and an elastic stride – all of which more than compensated for his lack of inches. Noholme was measured at 15.2 hands. He was an out-and-out champion and as a pint-sized three year old, ran a mile in the near Australasian record time of 1 minute, 34.5 seconds at Randwick. He also clocked a sizzling 1 minute 34.9 seconds in whipping nineteen older horses in the 1959 AJC Epsom Handicap as an early three-year-old. As full brother of Todman, Noholme would have been expected to show outstanding speed, but it was his efforts over longer distances that singled him out as a genuine champion in the highest class. He simply ‘played’ with the best open-aged stayers in Australia. (reference Ross du Bourg – The Australian and New Zealand Thoroughbred)

Noholme ultimately provided a priceless and highly refined international outcross where his robust breeding in distaff appears to Lake Victoria.
