...any rate a great thing to have kept alive the memory of that gallant little horse, which I don't suppose stood over fourteen hands, for nearly a century and a half. Gimcrack serves as a formative foundation, and his blending crosses reveal his distinct morphological identity that over the 300 years plus became increasingly remote yet one of high importance.

Hi Jane, I think you have identified another hidden source of the Hobby-Galloway in Gimcrack. Where did you find he produced Gaited horses. They really tried to erase all that info.

Arabian/eastern transferring the blood terminology as a thoroughbred was Lady Wentworth (my words) reference (The Thoroughbred World – Walter D. Osborne)

Osborne references S.D. Bruce to the American breeding records thereof.
