The prior article SACRED FALLS (NZ) potency illustrated the young New Zealand sire. He sadly deceased from a liver condition in 2019.
Sacred Falls 3 year old gelded son Aegon, went purchased for $NZ150k at NZ Bloodstock Yearling Sales.
This yearling colt had captured the purchasers ‘eye’… athletic, nicely balanced where not overly large yet, the colt had some extra appeal.
– it appears, the gelded son of Sacred Falls (a dual Doncaster miler) shall emulate his sire’s racing abilities.
Postulating the breeding & genetics – the TBL view is to target ‘why/how’ a quality sire over dam meets genotype ‘advanced’ via and thru numerous individuals represented. Where these lend towards or backwards upon old bones, exemplary strains that do exist distinct, they the exalted ones not to be missed, only be ever more so appreciated.
– the integrity of the racehorse thoroughbred to its ancestral bones has paid more principle than could ever be believed. Simply – prototype equals the on-top, dominant.
These exalted ones are the decisive: they are forever, laser sharp, integral to a sport horse finest. Supreme – they are ‘short’ (i.e. no shuttle, no numbers ‘mass’)

First… the obvious Aegon factors to 5×5 Northern Dancer and 5×5 Mill Reef. Had (personally) always thought O’Reilly (sire of Sacred Falls) was of the chiefly, Princequillo conduit type – there via, Mill Reef. Plus, Sacred Falls 5th dam has grand-sire Princequillo.
The cross-nick applied O’Reilly over Zabeel mares has Princequillo through Sir Tristram. However back…deeper & collectively 9x’s Princequillo preside via Milan Mill, Round Table, Bourbon Prince, Somethingroyal and Monarchy.
What the above emanates… to draw another & how often is it (?) …the familial blue-hen collectively… and easily over looked.
